“We give thanks to you, O God, for the goodness and love which you have made known to us in creation; in the calling of Israel to be your people; in your Word spoken through the prophets; and above all in the Word made flesh, Jesus, your Son.” Book of Common Prayer, p. 368
We are, first and foremost, followers of Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. In Jesus, we find that the nature of God is love. As followers of Christ, we strive to serve as messengers and transmitters of that love.
We believe that we are guided by God’s Holy Spirit in our life together in community, in our understanding of the Scriptures contained in the Holy Bible, and in our deliberations and dialogue.
We are a community of faith that carries out our missions and offers our thanksgiving and worship to God in the name of Jesus Christ.
We are open to and welcoming to people of all persuasions. We are pleased to be included as a Welcoming and Affirming family of God. This means that we are accepting – not just tolerant – of our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters (LGBT). All are invited to check us out, and to bring your selves to worship and participate with us.
We are active financial stewards, regularly supporting organizations such as (but not limited to): the Frostburg Area Food Pantry, the Allegany County No-kill Animal Shelter, the Union Rescue Mission, and the Frostburg Summer Lunchbox Program, and Jane’s Place Child Advocacy Center. We also support the Family Crisis Resource Center, Beall Elementary School, and the Animal Shelter with regular in-gatherings of supplies and donations. We have firm working relationships with the United Campus Ministry at Frostburg State University, and with the Frostburg Ministerium.
